Can I tell you what inspired this one?

I've lost count of how many times someone has looked around at the life I am living, or something I've accomplished, and eventually turned to the man beside me to ask, "So... what do you do?" As if the success they were looking at or are envious of couldn't possibly belong to me.

That's why this piece exists.

The moment that thought hit me, Cher's iconic line came rushing back: "Mom, I am a rich man." Not because it's about money, but because it's about independence. It's about creating a life that's yours because you were willing to do the hard things.

You'll spot a little Pac-Man tucked into the piece, my nod to growing up in the '80s. Back then, girls were still quietly handed a script for what success was supposed to look like. I guess I was too busy chasing ghosts and bigger dreams to read it.
